The Leviton 9454-D35 (or 9454D35) is a self-heating thermal protector designed for recessed ceiling lighting fixtures, including incandescent, fluorescent, and HID applications. Operating at 120V with an 8.2k-ohm internal resistor (code "D"), it features a cutoff temperature rating of 135°C (code "35") to prevent overheating and fixture damage. It is equipped with three 6-inch 18 AWG AWM-TEW wire leads for standard electrical connections. The device utilizes patented snap-in clips that fit into standard 1/2-inch trade-size knockouts, simplifying assembly and installation. Certified by UL and CSA, it meets National Electrical Code (NEC) thermal protection requirements for lighting safety.
